Craig Lee Casner, 61, was taken home to meet his heavenly Father on June 11, 2014 at the Alaska Regional Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. Craig was born September 06, 1952 in Cheyenne
Craig was with the Bureau of Land Management in Cheyenne until his move in 1983 to Fairbanks, Alaska and then moved to Anchorage in 1988 where he continued to work for the BLM until his retirement in 2012. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Anchorage, Chugiak Gem and Mineral Club and the Gold Prospectors of America/Anchorage (GPAA). He received an award for the State Champion Gold Panning. Craig took a special interest as a rock hound and the BLM outdoor week education. Craig enjoyed teaching the children in Alaska how to gold pan.
Craig is survived by his mother, Elvira Casner; brother, Kerry Casner (Nancy) and a nephew Michael Casner (Caitlin) all of Cheyenne.
He was preceded by his father, Ernest Casner, Jr. and two brothers, David and Douglas.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday at Our Savior Lutheran Church.
