Cordelia (Cordy) Alcon, 95 of Cheyenne. died at Davis Hospice Center on October 2, 2021. Cordelia was born October 25, 1925, in Ojo Feliz, New Mexico to Anastacio and Ortencia Romero. She married Daniel Alcon on April 13, 1943. She worked as a cook at various restaurants in the Cheyenne area making many friends during her career as a cook, many remaining lifelong friends. Cordelia loved cooking and is remembered by family for the wonderful Mexican meals she seemed to prepare at a moments notice. She was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed bowling, belonging to various bowling leagues in her younger years. .She loved her Catholic faith and for many years she and her beloved sister, Dora, were weekly participants of Adoration hour at St. Joseph Catholic Church Her greatest love, however. were her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.
Cordelia is survived by; daughters, Marcia Mavec and Shirley Curtis and son, Henry Alcon; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and by 2 brothers Tito and Rudy Romero. She was preceded in death by her husband of 77 years, Daniel Alcon; two sons, Lawrence and John Alcon and by her caregiver, daughter Darlene Van Scoy who preceded her in death by 6 weeks. Also preceding her were her parents, Anastacio and Ortencia Romero and by siblings, Sam Romero, Melecio Romero and Dora (Romero) Gonzales and by grandson, Hank Alcon
Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday ,November 6th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
