Constance "Connie" M Wise, 63, died Sunday May 3 in Cheyenne
Born at F.E.Warren Air Force Base on August 19, 1951. She travelled with a military family before returning to Cheyenne. She graduated from Cheyenne East High School in 1969. She was a member of the first class at LCCC, and graduated from University of Wyoming with a bachelor's in zoology in 1973 and another bachelor's in nursing in 1979. At UW she met Paul and they were married August 12, 1978. They moved to Witchita KS so Paul could work for Cessna, then moved back to Cheyenne in 1981. They bought a house, and had their first daughter, Elizabeth Lynn, in 1983. Connie worked at the VA Hospital until their second daughter, Whitney Amelia, was born in 1987. She then worked at Cheyenne's Memorial Hospital before going to Blue Cross Blue Shield of WY for the rest of her career and retired in 2013. She absolutely loved to knit and stitch and was a member of the Stitchers group at Ewe Count. She won many awards for her knitting and stitching, and loved making items for friends and anticipated babies. She loved dogs, bird watching, and was a devoted supporter of various animal rescues. She was a diehard "Downtoner" and a huge fan of Craig Johnson books and the Longmire series. She enjoyed road trips and spending time at the family's cabin in Glendo. She had great interest in genealogy and was a stickler for accuracy in family records, spending lots of time on ancestry.com.
Connie is survived by her husband, Paul Wise of Cheyenne; her daughters Elizabeth (Brian) Sawyer and baby grandson Axel of Atlanta and Whitney Wise of Cheyenne; her sister Caren Collins of Ft Collins; brother Cliff Collins of Cheyenne; her aunt Lois Fait of Cheyenne; 13 nieces and nephews.
