July 9, 1942 — November 7, 2015

Colleen Ann Griffith died Saturday, November 7, 2015 after a battle with colon cancer. She spent her last days recounting favorite memories with family and friends. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by everyone she touched with her love.

Colleen was born July 9, 1942 in Boone, Iowa to Stanley and Fearl Richmond. She graduated from North High School in Omaha, Nebraska and received her B.S. in Education from Omaha University. She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority.
Colleen married her college sweetheart, Noel Griffith Jr. on March 29, 1964. They moved to Cheyenne in 1973 with their children Troy and Nicole, where they had their third child, Shad. She substitute taught in Cheyenne for 15 years and then hostessed at her son’s restaurant. With an easy smile and ready conversation, Colleen never knew a stranger. Her easy nature and quick wit yielded many devoted friends. Colleen is a member of Northern Colorado Alpha Xi Delta Alumni Chapter and Cheyenne Lady Newcomers & Friends. An avid card player, Colleen cherished her time with her bridge, pinochle, canasta and Mahjongg groups.

She is survived by husband Noel; son Troy (Casey) of Cheyenne; daughter Nici (Brian) of Portland, Oregon; and son Shad (Katie) of Cheyenne; sister Carolyn Rupprecht; brother-in-law Don (Sharon); grandchildren Kyle, Dayton, Caden, Quinn, Reese; many aunts,uncles, nieces and nephews.

Her family extends special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the CRMC Cancer Center and the Davis Hospice Center. Colleen received compassion and friendship from everyone who cared for her. Those who wish may contribute to these Centers. Services will be at 1:00pm on Friday, November 13th at First United Methodist Church with a celebration immediately following at the Kiwanis Community House.=
