Christine Judith Vredenburg was welcomed into her eternal home on September 6th, 2023.
Christine was born on May 11, 1967 to Theodore Charles and Maria Martha Vredenburg in
Long Beach, CA. She was the 3rd of 4 children. . Her family gave her the nickname “Beanie” as
she was tall and thin like a string bean. As she grew, she became extremely fond of horses
and eventually, owned and trained 2 of her own, Gypsy and Nutmeg. She spent hours in the
corral practicing dressage.
Christine graduated from Seton Catholic High in 1986 and went on to receive her Associates in
Horse Management from LCCC. She pursued various interests to include running the stables
for a Girl Scout Camp in Southern California and attending modeling school in Denver,
Colorado. Eventually, Christine went on to achieve her Bachelors degree in Administration of
Justice with a minor in Latin. She worked briefly for a law office, as well as the District Court
Office in Cheyenne.
Christine gave birth to her son, Nathaniel Vredenburg on July 24th 1999. She was a gentle,
caring mother who devoted herself to his Catholic upbringing and education.
Christine was artistic, graceful, shy at times, comedic, and most importantly prayerful. She was
generous to those in need. Christine was a member of St Mary’s Church and considered
herself a devout Catholic.
Christine spent the last years of her life, assisting her son as he graduated from UW. Her
journey, while not without suffering, was never without hope. She will always be remembered for
her devotion to her son, her dedication to her faith, and her love of animals (Desmond, the
family cat will miss her).
Christine is preceded in death by her father, Theodore C. Vredenburg and sister in law, Lyn
Vredenburg. She is survived by her mother, Maria M Vredenburg, her son, Nathaniel C
Vredenburg, her brothers, Ted (Cara) Vredenburg and Dan Vredenburg, her sister, Marianne
(James) Leas, her nieces and nephews, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Thursday, 9/28, 5:30 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be Friday, 9/29, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Cathedral.
