Our beautiful daughter, Christine Elizabeth Quist, 35 years old, went to be with our Lord on June
13, 2022. She was home with her parents and sister.
To say we treasured her is an understatement. We are so blessed to have known her - her
amazing soul, her infectious laugh, and her generous spirit. She was pure sunshine to all of us.
There was no one like our beloved Christy.
She was born May 20th, 1987, in NLR, Arkansas. Her vibrant red hair and bright blue eyes
entranced everyone she met. She always had a smile on her face and was willing to help anyone in need.
She graduated from Otis High School in 2006. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Science degree
in Elementary Education and Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction at Colorado Christian
University. Christy was currently pursuing her master’s degree in social work – specializing in Mediation
at Regent University.
Christy shared her beautiful soprano voice and gifts as a Praise leader at the Baptist Church when we
lived in Otis, Colorado. She worked at Cheyenne Air Force Base Chapel in children’s ministry.
Most of all, she loved teaching her students. Christy began her career teaching elementary school at
Heartland Christian School in Colby, KS. She was currently teaching at the online school, Ignite Christian
Academy. She loved sponsoring a Bible study and Minecraft clubs for her young students. She often said
it was her dream job. She loved all her students, past and present, and was beloved by them.
Christy was fearless. Her faith in our Lord was deep and resilient. She had a strong will and if
anything needed to happen, Christy would make it so. She was a driving force in our world,
loving everyone and dedicated to helping them reach their goals and dreams. There was
nothing she would not do for her friends and family. Her creativity and drive were endless,
manifesting in her small-business ventures and the intricate worlds she created in games and
stories.
As for our family, we all loved and cherished her. We feel an emptiness in our lives without her.
We trust our Lord and we know that in His mercy and love for her, she was taken quickly to
Heaven, freed of her earthly body.
Christy is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John Mark, and Anne Brown Harton
