Charles Alton "Chuck" Adams

Charles Alton “Chuck” Adams, of Cheyenne, passed away September 27th at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He was 84 years of age.
He was born on the family farm near Shoal Creek, Arkansas, March 5th, 1933, to Edith (Dotson) and Carl B. Adams. Much of his boyhood was spent working the farm, and enjoying the Arkansas country side swimming in Shoal Creek, hunting and fishing. He graduated from Ozark High School in Ozark, Arkansas in 1951. In 1956, after a 4 year enlistment in the U.S. Air Force, he attended Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas where he met the love of his life. On January 27th 1957, he married Lois Elaine Rogers in Wellington, Kansas. Following their marriage, Chuck reenlisted and began a 21 year career in the Air Force that saw assignments in Rabat, Morocco, North Africa, Kansas City, Missouri, and F. E. Warren AFB, Cheyenne, where he retired in 1973. Shortly after leaving the Air Force, he began a second career with United Parcel Service as a Feeder Driver, retiring after more than 20 years in 1995. In the years after his retirement from UPS, Chuck enjoyed working on their “Back Acher” homestead, cheering, and cussing, the Wyoming Cowboys, Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, as well as hunting and fishing. In January 2017, Chuck and Lois celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary with family and friends. They reminisced with joy on all the changes, challenges and blessings that 60 years of married life brings.
Charles was a member of the First United Methodist Church and The American Legion, Post 6.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, John Lloyd Adams, Carl Lindal Adams, and Lonnie Russell Adams. Chuck is survived by his wife, Lois, son Kendall (Nikki) Adams, his only grandchild, Hannah Grace, and a brother Robert Earl Adams of West Memphis, Arkansas.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, October 9th, 2017, at Wiederspahn - Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. Interment will be held at Beth El Cemetery following the service.
