Charlene Elmstrand

August 9, 1938 — February 17, 2020

Charlene (Char) Elmstrand, 81, of Cheyenne passed away February 17, 2020 at Davis Hospice Center. She was born August 9, 1938 in Chandler, MN and had lived in Cheyenne since 1983. Char married her beloved husband, Rodean, June 27, 1961 and had two children, Nannette and Stephen. And according to Rod, “She is the best thing that ever happened to him”.

Char will be lovingly remembered by her husband Rod; Daughter, Nan (Kevin) Serck; Son, Steve (Lori) Elmstrand; Grandchildren - Amelia, Jenni, Adam, Chris, Ali, Mike, Sarah, Alyssa, Nate, Summer, Ryan, and Paige; Great-Grandchildren, Myla, Max, Addison and Logan; Nephew, Paul (Lanette) Moret, and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Mae Moret, and brother Dave Moret.

Char loved being a schoolteacher and did so for over 40 years in South Dakota and Wyoming. She was a member of multiple sororities including Delta Kappa Gamma and an active volunteer in the church. Char enjoyed playing the organ and piano, traveling, reading and playing cards but her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services for Char will be held Saturday February 22nd at 3:00 at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. Reception to follow at The Gathering Place. Flowers can be sent to the family via Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
