Carol Dingman

Carol was born on February 19, 1932 to Albert and Esther Teigen in Jackson, Minnesota. She passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on September 18, 2015 surrounded by her beloved family. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1950. She attended St. Olaf College for one year following graduation. She married Donald Dingman on June 1, 1952 in Jackson, Minnesota. They lived on a family farm for many years. During those years, Carol worked for the Jackson Hospital. They had four children. Once her children were grown, Carol went back to college. In 1980 she graduated from Mankato State University, Mankato, Minnesota. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master’s Degree in Psychology. She worked for Southwest Mental Health for 10 years. In 1995, Donald and Carol moved to Wheatland, Wyoming and Donald continues to live there. For 10 years they would travel with their 5th wheel to Lake Havasu City, Arizona to escape the cold and snow.
Carol loved her dog, Mitzy, Arizona trips, reading, doing crossword puzzles, talking politics to anyone, playing Pegs & Jokers, watching the news, NBA games and NFL games. She was very active in the Covenant Lutheran Church in Wheatland and loved her Lord. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was a great joy in her life. Carol could decorate her house beautifully for holidays, knew how to set a perfect table and entertain with grace and style.
She will be missed by her loving husband of 63 years, three sons, David (Dawn) of Rawlins, Joel (Nancy) of Casper, Richard (Nikki) of Wheatland and one daughter, Jann Houghe (Kent) of Rawlins. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Hanson, Tessa Harris, Hollie Dingman, Lucas Dingman, Kaleb, Karsen and Kaia Dingman, Jacob and Adam Dingman, Bobbie Jo Brennan and Tiffani Dingman. She is also survived by two step-grandsons, Nick and Neal Houge and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Doug Teigen and one niece Kristi Teigen.
A private family memorial service will be held in the beautiful mountains of Esterbrook followed by a memorial service at Covenant Lutheran Church in Wheatland at 2:00 p.m., on October 17th.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated in Carol’s name to Project Safe, 1207 9th St., Wheatland, WY 82301.
