Carol J. Dawson, 72, passed away May 12, 2014 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
She was born August 11, 1941 in Mandan, North Dakota to Howard and Vernia (Weiger) Fuerst. She married Joe Barber in 1964, later divorcing. She married Tom Dawson on June 17, 1978. She moved to Cheyenne from Minot 40 years ago, working her entire career as a teacher for Laramie County School District. She remembered every student she ever taught. She was a member of the Cancer Awareness Association. She loved playing Bingo and had a passion for animals.
She liked watching movies, especially comedies. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is remembered as fun loving and often very honest, never hesitating to share her thoughts on just about anything.
She is survived by her daughter Kristi Barrowman (Bob); grandchildren Ashley and Bailey; brother Kevin Fuerst; and sister Ann Ladner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Dawson.
A celebration of life will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Cremation has occurred at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
