Carmelrose Burns

Carmelrose Burns died in Cheyenne on July 24, 2022. She was 93 years old.
Carmelrose was born December 27, 1928, in Sioux City, Iowa. The third child of Harvey and Nora Martin. She was raised in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1947.
Carmelrose married Joseph A Burns on June 24, 1950, in Sioux City, IA. To this union, five children were born.
Carmelrose was a devoted wife to Joe and mother to her children. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carmelrose worked as a bookkeeper for Cheyenne Newspapers Inc and retired in 1994.
Carmelrose was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity and YMCA. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking, baking, family fishing trips, camping and traveling with Joe to visit family and friends.
She is survived by her children; Patrick (Karen) of Hendersonville, NC, Kathleen Parks (Jim) of Rogers, AR, Michael Burns of Cotopaxi, CO, James Burns of Cheyenne and Margaret Botkins of Cheyenne; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and a sister Bernadette Mitchell (John) of New York.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe on July 9, 2022, her parents and siblings, Owen Martin, Bernadette Carroll, Annette Lethcoe and Daniel Martin.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to St. Joseph’s Food Pantry, St. Joseph’s Children’s Home or Church of the Holy Trinity.
Viewing will be held from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon, Monday, August 1st at Wiederspahn Radomsky Chapel of Chimes 1900 E 19th Street, Cheyenne, WY.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 1st at 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Holy Trinity, 1826 Hot Springs Ave, Cheyenne, WY. Streaming will be available at https://holytrinitycheyenne.org then click on YouTube Special Events.
