Bruce Edward Loshbaugh called home to our Lord on September 4, 2024, while in the loving care of the staff at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. His love of 22 years, Connie, and his daughter, Amye, were by his side. He was 86.
Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, he was the oldest son of Oren Leslie and Margaret Augusta Loshbaugh. After Bruce graduated Cheyenne High School in 1957, he attended the University of Wyoming, and then enlisted and served in the United States Navy as a Radioman aboard the USS Farragut until 1961, and in the U.S. Naval Reserve until 1963. He continued his love of radio through Ham radio for many years.
Bruce went to work for the United Postal Service in 1965, working his way from Substitute Clerk to Supervisor, and retiring after 31 years of service. He served as the Union Representative for the American Postal Workers Union. After retiring, he continued serving the Post Office, by delivering mail to a rural route.
When Bruce married his first wife, Marcine, in 1966, he took on a family of five children under the age of eleven as his own. His son, Wayne, was born in 1986. His love and dedication to all his children taught them about integrity and values.
Besides Ham radios, Bruce’s hobbies and interests throughout his life included bowling, camping, fishing, watching sports, golf, model trains, all things Civil War and an extensive walrus collection. He was a Master woodworker.
Bruce loved his coffee groups…spanning and growing over 35 years (Thanks Guys!)
He was an active member of United Methodist Church and volunteered as a driver to deliver Meals-On-Wheels.
Bruce was proud to be an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 45 years. It was a way of life for him. The program and the people in it gave him back his life. He lived it “One Day at a Time”. He was honored to have met and helped countless friends of Bill W. along the way.
His faith in God, his fabulous sense of humor and his passion for life gave him the strength to “live with cancer”, one day at a time and battle through to the end. His smile and charm will be missed dearly by those who knew him.
He is survived by the Love of his Life, Connie Waszak, his children, David Loshbaugh, Wayne Holste, Delbert and Diana Pool, Hal and Janet Pool, Terri Pool and Amye and Greg Mac Neil, as well as his sister, Carolyn Loshbaugh, his grandchildren, Shane and Stacy Pool, Samuel Mullikin, Ashley Marrow and Jeff Rud, his great-grandchildren, Sierra and Dominic Mullikin, and his ex-wife, Marcine Loshbaugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his older sister Roberta Louise Hylan, his younger brothers, James Douglas Loshbaugh, Robert David Loshbaugh, his son, Harold Levoy Pool,
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on September 20, 2024, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Instead of sending flowers please consider donating to Cheyenne Cancer Center or Davis Hospice Center through Cheyenne Regional Foundation in Bruce’s memory.
