N. Bruce Haston, 89, of Cheyenne, died on June 17, 2023 in Cheyenne.
Bruce was born December 29th, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri, the younger of two sons born to Paul and Cleta Haston. Gary, Bruce's older brother, passed in 1986. The family moved a couple of times prior to him joining the US Air Force at the age of 18, where while stationed in Texas, he met the love of his life and soon to be wife, Helen (better known as Rocky).
Over the next 20 years, Bruce would be stationed across the globe with the military, including locations in SE Asia, the Middle East, and here in the United States, among others. Bruce’s specialized in airplane maintenance for the military.
After serving just over 20 years in the Air Force, Bruce retired and began his second adventure with the Internal Revenue Service, where he spent the next 20 years of his life as a field agent, eventually working his way up the ladder to a senior level position with the organization. After another 20 years in the workforce, Bruce retired for good in Cheyenne, where he and his wife spent the last of their days, with Rocky passing 9 years ago.
Bruce and Rocky would have three children during their nearly 60 years of marriage, Bruce, Lesli and Mark. Sadly, Bruce and Lesli preceded their father in death. Mark was able to say goodbye to his father. Bruce is also survived by four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Bruce was fortunate enough to spend nearly all of his last days at his home, which was one of his wishes. He passed away under care of the staff at Davis Hospice after a very short stay in the hospital.
Services will be Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with military honors and burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
