Bruce Haston, 64, of Cheyenne, died on Friday, May 10. 2019 in Cheyenne.
He was born on April 3, 1955 in Amarillo, Texas. Growing up in a military family, he lived in numerous places across the country, and graduated from Central High School in Cheyenne in 1973.
After high school, Bruce enrolled in the U.S. Air Force, where he spent the next 20 years of his life. During his time in the military, he met his first wife, Cheryl Miller of Cheyenne, Wyoming. They married in August, 1978. Bruce and Cheryl had two children together, Stacy Haston Gibbs and April Haston.
Bruce retired as a MSGT in the U.S. Air Force after 20 years and joined the Cheyenne Police Department. His years of service, nearly 40 in all between the USAF and CPD were some of the happiest of his life. During his time with the Cheyenne Police Department, he met his current wife, Cathy, formerly of Rock Springs, Wyoming. They married May 23rd, 2003. Along with Cathy's two sons, Dylan Bider and Hunter Moore, Bruce lived out the rest of his life happily with his family here in Cheyenne.
Bruce was extremely dedicated to physical fitness as well as a huge fan of Texas Longhorn football. He could often be seen at the local sports establishments with Cathy cheering on their favorite teams. He enjoyed time spent outdoors, politics, and spending time with his friends and family. He also was known for his quick wit and unique sense of humor.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Haston; four children, Stacy Haston Gibbs, April Haston, Dylan Bider, and Hunter Moore; siblings, Lesli Haston and Mark Haston; his father, MSGT Bruce Haston; and three grandchildren. He also had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Rocky Haston and sister-in-law Jenny Haston. …..
Memorial services will be Friday, 2:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
