Blanche Eleanor Rush (Hamilton), 93, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at home.
She was born on October 30, 1923 to Wilhem and Marie Gebhardt in Hoboken, New Jersey, four years after her sister, Wilma.
Blanche married William N. Hamilton on February 15, 1942 and moved to Wyoming. They were married for 47 years and had four children, Nancy, Mark (deceased), Thomas, and Jane. Blanche enjoyed being a housewife and was an especially caring mother. Because of her love for children, she babysat for many families throughout the years. Blanche was also married to Thomas Rush for 14 years and to Melford Smith for eight years. Some of Blanche’s very favorite past times were dancing and traveling.
She is survived by seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Blanche, also known to her loved ones and many friends as “Bama”, has lived with her daughter, Jane and grandson, Steele for over seven years, along with her favorite dog “Tucker”, who also passed away recently. Blanche enjoyed attending lunch at the Senior Center, accompanied by a close friend, Jim McCurdy. A special and well deserved thank you to her daughter Jane, for all of her love and devoted care.
Timeless Memories services will be Monday, January 30, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
