Betty Lou Braunschweig March, died Thursday, September 17, 2015 in Greeley, Colorado.
She was born in Cheyenne on February 16, 1926. She attended school in Cheyenne and graduated from Cheyenne Central High School.
She worked at F.W. Woolworth, Warren Air Force Base and the Bureau of Land Management where she met her husband Maurice ”Scoop” March. They were married on April 17, 1958 in Loveland, Colorado.
Betty was a past worthy High Priestess of Galilee, order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Fort Collins, CO; a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ft. Collins #26; Fort Collins and Colorado Horseman’s Club where she showed her Arabian horse, Lafar. A member of AARP, and Beta Sigma Phi for 47 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Stephen and Edith Braunschweig; three brothers, John, Fred and Walter Braunschweig; and two sisters, Marie Bartley and Shirley Turnbull.
Survivors include her step-children, (Maurice’s children); two sisters-in-law, Ruth Braunschweig, of Chugwater, WY; Juanita (Max) Kaser of Cheyenne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
