Betty L. Mandis, 86, passed away on June 19, 2014 at Denver Hospice in Denver, Colorado.

Betty was born on January 4, 1928 in Yoder, Wyoming to John and Grace (LaCrone) Connolly. They moved to their homestead at Table Mountain where she and her three older brothers, and later two younger sisters, went to the country school. They moved to Cheyenne when Betty was in the 7th grade. She graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1946. She then went to Denver, Colorado, where she attended Central Business College. She returned to Cheyenne, working at the Veterans Administration. She met Louis Mandis, and they married on August 2, 1952. Louis worked in the insurance business. His career moved the family to several different states including Texas and Minnesota. In 1978, they returned home to Cheyenne where Louis worked for the Wyoming Insurance Department. Betty worked at Mountain Bell, where she retired in 1991. She belonged to Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. She was a member of the YMCA, AARP, and was active with her husband, Louis, in the Shrine Club of Cheyenne.

She is survived by her son, Nick Mandis (Mary J. Brown); daughter Georgia Haynes; granddaughters Nicole Haynes and Kimberly Mandis; and sister Joanne Baker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Frank and Bob Connolly in World War II, and Gene Connolly; and sister Lucille McKinney.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church with interment following in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
