Betty Ruth Terry Jacobs, 78, passed away March 6, 2016.
She was born April 24, 1937 in White Sulpher Springs, West Virginia to Jess and Binia Terry.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. During her life, Betty worked in a hat factory and a dress factory in Middletown, New York. She also worked as a waitress and bartender. She and her late husband, Walter Jacobs, owned a Singer sewing machine store and a used furniture store in Port Jervis, New York.
In 1988, she moved to Cheyenne to be closer to her son, Robert Shattuck, his wife, Karen, and grandchildren, Mandie, Kevin, and Jessica.
Her survivors include, son, Robert (Karen) Shattuck; grandchildren, Mandie Shattuck and Jessica (Christopher) Angell and great-granddaughter, Jasmine Angell, all of Cheyenne; siblings, Marie (Ronald) DePriest of White Sulpher Springs, Gloria (Tom) Madden, Humbert Ricciotti, Sandra Ricciotti, Toni Ricciotti, and Rosemary (Freddie) Gonzalez, all of New York state and Diana Ricciotti of Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Jacobs; grandson, Kevin Shattuck; brother, Jess “Pete” Terry; and four sisters, Mabel Martino, Margie Lambert, Gipsy Hock, and Venice Eckerson.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Services will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be sent in Betty’s name to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
