Betty Doris Grandpre, 90, of Cheyenne, died on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
She was born on January 2, 1925 in Moorcroft, Wyoming.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Betty touched the hearts of all who knew her. She was a long time member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and enjoyed serving the church in whatever capacity she was able.
One of Betty’s greatest joys was being part of the scouting programs. She was a Girl Scout herself and later served as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader.
Her passions were her faith, family, and her hobbies which included cooking, sewing, rock hunting, and taking walks in the prairies and deserts of Wyoming.
Betty is survived by her children, Joyce Mowery of Cheyenne, Janice Perry (Leigh) of Navarre, Florida, Jim Grandpre (Sharon) of Cheyenne, Jerry Grandpre (Cindy) of Green River, Jeff Grandpre of Cheyenne, Joe Grandpre (Liz Merritt), of Cheyenne, and Jason Grandpre of West Hollywood, California; daughter-in-law, Kathy Grandpre of Auburn, Georgia; brothers, Dwight Kimsey (Marion) of Northglenn, Colorado, Gene Kimsey (Helen) of San Antonio, Texas, and Terry Kimsey (Barbara) of La Mirada, California; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney C. Grandpre; son, Jack Grandpre; parents, Frank and Ethel Kimsey; brothers Edwin and Kenneth Kimsey; and son-in-law, Rich Mowery.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Wednesday, 6:00 p.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Tom Cronkleton as the celebrant.
Interment will be in Olivet Cemetery.
