Born Cheyenne WY November 25th 1930, passed away Life Care Center Cheyenne WY May 29, 2022 from pneumonia.
Betty Jean David daughter of Roy and Gladys David, became bride of Pfc Harry J Estes son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Estes married at 1st Christian Church on October 8th, 1949. Betty was a graduate of Cheyenne High School and was employed by the Plains Hotel. Harry Estes was stationed at F.E. Warren Air Force Base where he attended the Teletype Technician School. Betty had one sister Clarice Anne David.
Together Betty and Harry had 6 children;

Mom was caring, giving, loving and very patient, especially with each of her children and grandchildren. She earned her gray hair with all of us. She taught us about our Lord Jesus. She placed scriptures all over our home on every kitchen cabinet and even in front of you when you sat on the commode. She wanted to make sure even in your private time your mind was on the Lord. She taught us all about forgiveness. We all were not allowed to hold grudges. She always said life was too short and that we need to remember what the Lord did on the cross for us. Mom had a wonderful knack for making each child, grandchild and great-grandchild feel like they were number one! She made us all feel so special. She had always wanted six kids in her life and always let us know this when we were growing up. She let us know how proud she was of us. Her desire in life was to become a designer of women's clothes and she had even received a scholarship for college but it never materialized. She was a people person! She loved cats and dogs, birds and really all animals. Mom was a cook most of her life. She cooked all over Cheyenne at Two Bar Bowl, Elcy's Cafe, Cabbage Patch, Coffee Cup Cafe, Bowlerama, Downtown Motor Inn, Plains hotel, and even at DT’s making their broasted chicken and many more places! The weekends came and she would cook for all the neighborhood kids. She fried chicken and made potato salad and all the fixings! She would amaze us how she’d get up at 4 a.m. to start the process. After being a cook for many years Mom started a daycare center. She was pretty amazing as she would teach all the kids that came their ABCs, Counting, Reading and all about the Bible. She had a fairly large amount of children at one time. One thing my mom taught us was hard work and loyalty. Probably the best thing mom taught us kids was how to build a household budget. She would bring home her paycheck and put the money in separate envelopes for each bill. Then showed us what she had left which was usually nothing, knowing that we couldn't whine too much for money. If there did happen to be a little money left, the child who got out of bed early and walked with mom to pay the bills would get a treat. Mom never did have a car, we walked everywhere. One of the most fun things mom would do is to make a baked Alaska for everyone who turned 21 years old, it was a very big deal! Mom raised 6 kids with no father in the picture. It was difficult raising six children on nothing more than a Cook's paycheck, no child support no alimony no other source of income. She even helped out many stray children who had lost their way by giving them a place to stay, food in their belly and arms full of love. She was a truly amazing mother and when she gave you hugs, her hugs were definitely felt! She even verbalized her hugs as she embraced you with Mmmmm, Mmmmm, Mmmmm! We will miss her and love her forever!
A Memorial Service for Betty will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at Miracle Valley
