Bessie J. Dickerson, 84, of Cheyenne, died on March 9, 2021 in Cheyenne, WY.
She was born on November 26, 1936 in Nathalie, Virginia to Frank and Lou Dickerson.
Bessie was raised on a farm before moving to New York City in young adulthood. She lived in numerous places including California, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Wyoming and Texas. Wyoming became home. During her life she held positions for the highway department, courthouse as a city clerk and a caregiver. She also volunteered for the school district as a Foster Grandparent. Caring for others was her passion. She was a member of the American Legion, and The Eastern Stars – Wyoming Chapter #6. Bessie enjoyed playing cards, reading, cooking, laughing, listening to music, and watching sports, especially the Denver Broncos.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Gray) and Family; Melissa (Wilkins) and Family, Bay (Jones) and Family, Lawrence Presbury and Family, son and special family friend, John Munoz; and a host of grandchildren including but not limited to: Shatra Presbury, Alfranzo Kurtz, Ariyan Trawick, and John Munoz, Jr.; Great-Grandchildren, LeeAndre Ray, Tremel Ray, and Shaleiyah Kurtz.
Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lou Dickerson; son, Brian Presbury and husband, Steve Stubert.
Services will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
