It is with great sadness that our beloved mother Bertha Carter passed peacefully with her family present on October 28 2022 to join her loved ones that went before her.
Bertha was born March 21 1926 in Rio Grande City, TX. She met the love of her life Frank, in 1949 and they were married on March 11, 1950. They made their permanent residence in Cheyenne after many years of traveling the states with Frank’s work as an electrician.
She was devoted to Jesus and was the true definition of a Christian. She attended Sunnyside Baptist Church then First Baptist Church and was involved in many auxiliary clubs, and made lifelong friends over the years.
Bertha supported the University of Wyoming Cowboy basketball and football teams and LCCC Eagles. She was also a fan of the Colorado Rockies and Denver Bronco’s.
Caring for her family and friends was the joy of her long life and she did so without ever complaining. Bertha’s most precious reward was the love from those she cared for as she was never a materialistic person. The love she received from those whose lives she touched meant more to her than any possession the richest person could own.
She had the kindest heart and the sweetest soul. She never spoke unkind words about anyone. If you visited her home the first thing she would say was “Do you need something to drink, or can I get you something to eat?” She treated her children’s friends as if they were her own and loved them all.
Although she will be dearly missed by many, especially her family, we are all comforted in knowing she is with her Lord.
She is survived by her children, Frank Carter (Janice), Debbie Carter-Horton (Sam), Linda Carter, Becky Carter and Lorrie Hogan; grandchildren Brandi McCormick, Dusty Hays (Heather), Rhianna Haight (James), Justin Carter (Crystal), Kaleena Carter, Patrick Carter (Aimee); 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her son Jon, grandsons Jonathan and Samuel.
Visitation will be Friday, 9-5, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with an reception to immediately follow at The Gathering Place.
Donations may be made to Davis Hospice Center or charity of your choice.
