Bernard F. Jensen
February 18, 1930 – January 8, 2019
Bernie passed away at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Bernie was born in Timberlake South Dakota to Orlo and LaVern Jensen. Bernie is survived by his wife of 54 years JoAnn and sons Daniel (Fatima) Jensen of California and Anthony (Elizabeth) Jensen of Washington. His two daughters Angie (Rob) Helton of Wyoming and Debbie (Paul) Jankard of South Dakota. His brother, Orlo Jensen of Montana and sister Muriel Slater of Texas. He was also blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bernie was Preceded in death by his daughter Judi, his son Michael, his grandson James, and his sister Charlotte. Bernie was in the United States Army and served in the Korean War in 1950 were he was wounded in combat and received the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Distinguished Unit Citation, Korean Service Medal with three bronze stars, and a Commendation Ribbon for Valor for his service. He was employed by Barber Service Transportation, ICX Trucking, Buckingham United, and Wyoming Machinery Company.
He was a wonderful husband and father and grandfather. He was a great friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
