Ben Adamson, 80, of Cheyenne, died on April 22, 2015 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
He was born on August 1, 1934 in San Luis Obispo, California and had lived here since 1964.
Ben served in the U.S. Army and was a conductor for the UPRR. He was a member of the American Legion Post 6, National Rifle Association, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He rodeoed in his youth and in 1953 was ranked the #1 4-H Judge in the State of Colorado. He loved hunting elk, lion, and sheep. Ben was an outfitter and ran several hunting camps. Lion dogs were his passion. Besides his hunting, he coached many championship teams in Junior League and Junior Babe Ruth. He also loved country music, old western movies, Hee Haw, and watching football and baseball.
Mr. Adamson is survived by his wife, Linda Adamson; sons, Ben (Sharon), Roger (Cindy), and Jim Bob (Lisa); a brother, Bill (Norma); and eight grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at Happy Jack Country Church.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
