Becky King, 89, of Cheyenne, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Davis Hospice Center.
She was born on August 10, 1925 in Ventura, California. While her husband Bob worked for Pacific Power and Light, they lived in Rock Springs in the 1970’s and Lander from 1988-2009, before moving to Cheyenne. She played violin with the Pasadena Civic Orchestra and was once conducted by Leopold Stokowski. Becky also sang in the A Capella Choir. She was a member of Friends of South Pass and baked cookies at the Esther Hobart Morris House in the summers. Mrs. King had the gift of service and hospitality. She was a member of Meadowbrooke Baptist Church, an avid hiker, loved geology, and even learned to downhill ski at the age of 50.
Becky is survived by her husband, Joseph “Bob” King; a daughter, Coleen King; a son, Gary King; a grandson, Kyle Doussett; and two sisters, Elizabeth Hagan and Marian Kelly.
Life Commemoration Services will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Meadowbrooke Church with Pastor Billy Minder officiating.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
