Barbara Renee (Fuerstenberger) McGuire, 43, of Wheatland, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Davis Hospice Center.
Barbara was born on August 3, 1971 in Yankton, South Dakota with her twin Bart Fuerstenberger.
She graduated from Cheyenne Central High School and the Larry Caldwell School of Cosmetology in Laramie, Wyoming.
Barbara worked for a short time in Cheyenne but moved to Wheatland where she ran her own successful business, Nails by Barbara, for the past 18 years. During her career, she participated in many seminars and competitions, and is well known for her beautiful work. Although she was very busy, she always had time to help her clients get ready for special events. She is best known for her loving and outgoing personality and her willingness to help others.
Barbie was struck with breast cancer 14 years ago and battled on as it metastasized. Always with a positive and upbeat attitude, she championed breast cancer awareness with the walks and other venues to help women learn about self-awareness.
Barbie will be well remembered for never giving up and for keeping her faith no matter how bad things got.
She is survived by a son, Chase Proctor; her parents, Clark and Virginia Fuerstenberger; two sisters, Kim Nelson (Steven) of Anchorage, Alaska and Michelle Sorensen (Gannett) of Casper; twin brother, Bart Fuerstenberger (Bonnie) of Cheyenne; four nephews; one niece; and one great niece.
Visitation will be Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Services will be Sunday, 12:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the American Legion Post 6.
