Arthur J. Jost

Arthur "Art" John Jost, 88, of Cheyenne passed away October 17, 2019. He was born September 24, 1931 in Morris, Minnesota, to Frank Bernard and Wilhemine Josephine (Zaehringer) Jost, the 7th of 9 children.

After graduating from high school in 1949, he enlisted In the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant after 24 years of service.

He married the love of his life, Frieda Marie Newman, July 6, 1957 in Sedalia, Missouri. Three children were born of this Union.

Art enjoyed many hobbies and pursuits. He was an avid DIYer and an accomplished woodworker. He also loved to travel and he loved to shop!

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frieda; one son Charles (Elsbeth) Jost; two daughters, Tonia (Dan) Shea; and Sandy (Ray) Shupe; four grandchildren, Christopher (Rachelle) Bussard, Katherine (Julian) Shupe, Chris Shea, and Crosby Shea; two great-grandchildren Justice and Jason; sister Agnes Stensby; brother Paul Jost; brother-in-law Marion (Carol) Newman; sister-in-law Janet Jacobs; and multiple nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

The viewing will be Saturday from 9:00-4:00 and The Rosary will be said at 4:00 Sunday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Olivet Cemetary. Luncheon will be served right afterwards at the church.
