Arnold Mata, Sr., 76, of Cheyenne, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in Cheyenne.
He was born on October 23, 1941 in Sutherland, Nebraska.
Mr. Mata retired as an engineer for UPRR after 39 years of service.
Arnold loved spending time with his family and treasured the moments at family gatherings. He enjoyed working on cars, going to the auction, and everything outdoors, including camping, fishing, and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe “Lupe” (Luna) Mata; seven children, Roxie Hayward, Tina Juarez, LaDonna Camargo (Abel), Delinda Street (Charles), Jeannie Mata, Arnold Mata, Jr. (Lea), and Ernesto Mata; six siblings, Frank Mata, Jr., Anita Rangel, Rachel Mata, Fred Mata, Wally Mata, and Joseph Mata; 19 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, Paul and Jeannie Mata; and his grandson, Elijah Mata.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Sunday, 4:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy
will be Monday, 3:00 p.m., at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
