Anthony “Flaco” Valdez, 50, of Cheyenne, died on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in Cheyenne.
He was born on July 8, 1964 in Cheyenne and had lived here all of his life.
Anthony was a truck driver for the City of Cheyenne Sanitation Department for 30 years and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Motocross and family were Anthony’s life. He loved watching his kids and grandkids motocross. He would travel the country to watch Supercross in other states and was always working on motorcycles in his garage. Anthony was the past president of the Laramie County Riders Association and founded the Just Casual Lowrider Car Club. He enjoyed riding his Harley, coaching his kids in sports, and playing softball and basketball.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Nancy (Brookman) Valdez, whom he married on February 12, 1982; two sons, Tony Valdez (Amanda) and Andrew Valdez (Amanda Connerley); a daughter, Stephanie Valdez; his mother, Stella Valdez; a brother, Richard Valdez; a sister, Sandra Recendez; his grandchildren, Taryn and Kalvin Valdez, Davien Grimm, and Arien Pendleton; three brothers-in-law, Eddie, Steven, and Doug Brookman; his partner, Ramsey the boxer; and all of his Motocross family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ricardo Valdez.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Thursday, 6:00 p.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Funeral Liturgy will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Carl Gallinger as the celebrant.
Cremation will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
