Angela Marie Elizondo passed way November 2, 2019 in Cheyenne. She was born March 23, 1979 in Casper, WY. She is the daughter of Ricardo and Cecilia Elizondo. Angela moved to Cheyenne in 1985 and graduated from Central High School in 1997. She studied nursing at Owens Community College in Toledo, OH.
Angela is survived by her parents, her son Jay Allen Zeunen, III; brothers Ricardo Elizondo, Jr. and Jeremy Smario.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Rosendo & Olivia Barajas and Faustino & Francis Elizondo; Aunt Kathy Kath; Uncles Faustino Elizondo, Jr and Ronald Stevens; and numerous great aunts and uncles.
Angela was characterized as a strong, hardworking, unconditionally loving, giving, and accepting person who strived to be the best mother she could. Angela loved her family and being silly. She possessed a laugh that would light up the room. She was affectionately known as “Sister Marie” and “Dad’s little angel”.
Angela has been recognized for her extensive history of volunteering and for community resources training with Cheyenne elementary schools. Her hobbies included gymnastics and dance. She also collected smileys, skeletons, and owls.
Angela was employed by Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, Target, Mongolian Grill and Hometown Grill. She volunteered her time helping the homeless community and working with Meals on Wheels.
A vigil is scheduled for 6:00 pm on Thursday November 21, 2019 at the Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10:00 am Friday, November 22, 2019 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Cheyenne. Father August Koeune is officiating. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington.
