Alice G. Walter, 83, died June 29, 2014 in Cheyenne.
She was born to George and Gertrude (Rohret) Haman on November 9, 1930 in Cosgrove, Iowa. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Iowa City, graduating as Valedictorian in May of 1949. On July 26th of that same year she married Robert Gene Walter at St. Mary’s Church in Iowa City. They moved to Cheyenne 57 years ago. Alice was an active member of St. Mary’s Cathedral in Cheyenne. In her earlier years she volunteered for the Cheyenne Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, and had an interest in antiques.
She is survived by her husband Robert; son Mark Walter; grandchildren David Walter, Suzie Walter, Danny Walter, Karin Billingsley, Jordan Walter, Anthony Walter, Kelley Walter, and Alex Walter; six great-grandchildren; and sister Monica Krall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Michael and Matthew Walter; brothers George Haman, Jr. and Eugene Haman; and sister Anna Marie Miller.
Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Wiederspahn-Radomksy Chapel. Interment will follow in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
