Albert R. Arias, 93, of Cheyenne, died on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
He was born on March 19, 1921 in Cheyenne and had lived here all of his life.
Mr. Arias served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from the Department of the Air Force as a cook.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, American Legion Post 6, AARP, G.I. Forum, AFLCIO, and loved fishing, camping, the Denver Broncos, and the Colorado Rockies.
Albert is survived by his children, Marie Chavez (Melvin), Rose Mary Arias, Alice Fonseca (David), Elizabeth Joiner (Michael), Albert Arias, Anthony Arias (Valerie), and Valerie Arias; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Lillian Matteson.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Rueben, Carlos, and Chris Arias; sister, Rosemary Weible; and his parents, Rosalio and Josephina (Ronquillo) Arias.
Vigil for the Deceased will be Tuesday, 6:00 p.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Funeral Liturgy will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Carl Gallinger as the celebrant.
Pallbearers are Eric Chavez, Isaac Arias, Manuel Fonseca, Michael Evans, Dustin Paiz, Anthony Arias II, Cody Cisneros, Eduardo Arias, Leandro Arias, Wesley Evans, Justin Cisneros, and Jonathan Cisneros.
Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
