Alan Nelson was reunited with his late wife of 42 years on January 16th, 2025.
He was born in Stafford County, Kansas on October 24, 1947, to Paul and Neva Nelson, he was an only child.
In his younger days, Alan spent many years working overseas for an oil exploration company and retired as a copier engineer.
He was an amazing husband, who cared for his wife, day in and day out for several years as she battled a chronic illness.
He had a passion for airplanes, trains, motorcycles, and shooting sports. You could usually find him at the shooting range, at the sand dunes or tinkering with his model airplanes and trains.
He and his wife, Ann spent many years refereeing at the national matches at Camp Perry, Ohio. He was a life member of the NRA, Wyoming State Shooting Association and a Life member of the Cheyenne Rifle and Pistol Club.
He is survived by his son’s Everett (Lacey) Nelson, Ernest (Lisa) Nelson, and his 5 grandchildren, Letha, Vance, Everett Jr, Dylan and Landon.
He will be dearly missed by his family and all of his lifelong friends.
There will be an interment on Wednesday the 29th at 11:00AM at the Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
