Rudy Torres, Sr.

Rudy Torres, Sr., 76, of Cheyenne, died on July 4, 2022 in Cheyenne.
He was born on March 20, 1946 in Rawlins, Wyoming to Peter an Ida Torres.
Rudy had a full life. He grew up Rawlins, Wyoming with his parents Peter and Ida, older brother Joseph, and younger sister Patricia. Rudy graduated from Rawlins high school in 1964 then joined the United States Army on June 27, 1967 and served in the Vietnam War. During his time in the Army he learned to become a Stenographer.
His civilian education included business school which he used to gain employment with Mountain Bell as the very first male secretary in the state of Wyoming. Rudy then worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. His last position was with the Bureau of Land Management, which he retired from as the State Timekeeper.
Rudy had many friends and played pool for the Cheyenne Valley Pool League for more than 40 years. Rudy enjoyed spending time with his family. Rudy stated: One of his most fond memories was dancing with his beloved wife Elsie.
Rudy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elsie Torres. Rudy Torres, Jr (son) wife Julia Torres. Joseph Torres (brother) wife Judy. Patricia Perez (sister) hunsband Melesio. Robert Rudy Torres, Rudy Torres III, Raymond Peter Torres, Richard Samuel Torres, Racquel Justina Torres ( all grandchildren).
Theodore Robert Torres ( great grandson). Plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Rudy was preceded in death by his father Peter Torres, His mother Ida Torres (García).
Vigil for the deceased will be Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 6:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
Funeral Liturgy will be Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Reception to follow at VFW 1881 (On Nationway) until 430 PM
Military honors and burial will follow at Beth El Cemetery.
