Jack Raymond Gibbs

November 27, 1931 — October 30, 2021

Jack Raymond Gibbs, 89, of Cheyenne, passed at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 27, 1931, in Yoder, Wyoming to Lowell Gibbs and Marie Gibbs.

Jack resided in Yoder and graduated high school in 1951, served in the army in Korea and was a lifetime member of VFW 4343. He worked at Cheyenne Iron & Metal for eight years, then for the Union Pacific Railroad until he opened his own business of Gibbs Auto Repair in 1975 and continued in that business for 25 years until retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Louise Hynd Gibbs; his sister, Elizabeth Vance and brother-in-law, Dwight Vance; daughter, Julie Renee Ricketson and son-in-law, Chris Ricketson; son, Daniel Leroy Gibbs; daughter-in-law, Virginia “Ginger” Gibbs; step-so, Ronald Clark and wife, Elaine; and grandchildren, Morgan Elizabeth Gibbs Walker, Harrison Powell Gibbs, Marin Olivia Ricketson, and Ryan Renee Ricketson.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell & Marie Gibbs; brothers, Horace “Pete” Gibbs, Robert “Hoot” Gibbs, and Bud Gibbs; sisters, Esther Mae Garrelts and Helen Louise Soule; and his step-son, Darrell Clark.

Services to be held Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Wiederspahn Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes, 1900 East 19th St., Cheyenne, WY.
