Gerad "Red" Magee

November 7, 1928 — April 5, 2024

Gerad (Red) M. Magee, 95, passed at Davis Hospice April 5, 2024. He was born on November 7, 1928 in Maxwell, NE to Elmer F. Magee and Amy D. (Van Natta) Magee.
Red was raised by his grandparents after losing his mother at an early age. He grew up on the farm where he was taught to work hard and take care of yourself. That served him well in his adult life. He married Mary Reynolds on November 17, 1951 in Scottsbluff, NE. He worked for the railroad for ten years. Red developed an interest in construction after his father passed from a construction accident and Red took over his trucking for Teton. He moved the family to Cheyenne in 1961 where Red built his own business as Magee Trucking and developed Magee Mobile Home Park. These businesses served him and Mary well through the years and gave them the opportunity to travel and do some snow birding in Arizona and Texas. He enjoyed time spent traveling in their motor home to different states and fishing along the way. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and was on the board of directors for the Southside Water and Sewer District. Red always supported the kids in 4-H by purchasing a hog or beef to donate to Meals On Wheels. Always a farmer at heart.

Red is survived by his son Albert Leroy “Bud” (Diana); grandchildren, Julia (Tom) Senn, Justin (Cheri) Naish, Timothy (Rebecca)Naish, ten great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Red was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, wife of sixty one years Mary, brother Cecil, son Frederick Harold Naish and his wife Maryann.
