Ellen Shoemaker

February 9, 1946 — September 1, 2024

Mary Ellen Shoemaker passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family, after a long fight with dementia.

Ellen was born on February 9, 1946, in Fort Worth, TX. Ellen loved fishing and camping with the love of her life, Tom. She loved her family and all her fur babies from the Animal Shelter. Ellen loved keeping in touch with those she loved with her beautiful penmanship in cards and letters. She enjoyed her “coffee and cigs” in the sun-room. Ellen was always happy and made friends wherever she went. Her sweet personality shined through even during her dementia journey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Thomas C. Shoemaker; brothers, Mike McCarthy and Pat McCarthy; sister, Marianne Quinn; niece, Kelly Palm; and her granddaughter, Heather Savage.

Ellen is survived by her children; Christi Anderson (Jamie), Jon Savage (Misty), and Paul Savage (Amy); sister, Peggy Palm (Jerry); brother-in-law, Bill Quinn; sister in-law, Jan McCarthy, and many loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Donations can be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter in Ellen's memory.
