Ednaclaire "Honey" Harris

Ednaclaire “Honey” Kincaid Harris passed away peacefully Monday, December 4, 2023. She marveled over the fact she had turned 86!
She was born in Maxwell, Nebraska on October 15, 1937. Born with red hair like her mother, she was the 6th child of Walter Ray Kincaid and Irene Beatrice Story Kincaid.
Preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Arthur “Morrie” and her parents Walter “Sam” Kincaid and Irene “Rene” Kincaid; her siblings Janice Rogene, Walter Doyle, Shirley Anne, and Herb Harlan. Sadly, Ednaclaires children Irene Marie and Walter Louis proceeded her in death along with her beloved son-in-law, CSM Martin R. “Gunny” Barreras.
Celebration of life will occur at Wiederspahn Randomsky Chapel of the Chimes 1900 East 19th Street, Cheyenne, WY 82001 on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 10:00am.
She played the cello, the clarinet and swam on the swim team throughout her schooling. Ednaclaire graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1957. Her first job was in a jewelry store. She became a professional wrapper on those tiny boxes. She was a chef, a nurse, a balloon aficionado, a mother, a grandmother, however her most beloved achievement was becoming a Great Grandmother.
As a child her favorite past time was to capture caterpillars and put them in a glass jar. She loved to feed them and watch the caterpillars’ metamorphosis. Excitedly, she’d release the butterflies to new found freedom. Being an animal lover throughout her life, Ednaclaire had 3 dogs; Freckles, Cinnamon Toast (CT), and Sugar Babe. She loved Butterflies the most.
Being the youngest, she was clever. She would razz her nurses and caretakers with witty responses making them laugh. Everyone whose path she crossed adored her. Kindness was her trademark. Playing bingo was the activity she enjoyed the most.
Survived by her sister, Marcia Bowers, daughter, Melinda Anne, grandson Calvin Lee, granddaughter Amice Irene, and granddaughter Victorria. She cherished her great grandchildren Noah, and Natalie Barreras; Kya, Osias, Collin, Claire, and Finnley Everson.
Immediately following the Celebration of life, internment will be at Grandview Cemetery 1900 West Mountain Avenue, Fort Collins, CO. Ednaclaire designed their gravestone when her “Morrie” was laid to rest. She will ow join him.
They say a person will never die if you say their name. Please say her name, Ednaclaire Harris. She was special to many.
