On October 22, 2023, Christopher Lynn Cottle, 67, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends by his side after a lengthy but courageous battle with cancer. Known as “Popop” by his favorite people, Chris was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Chris was born in Cheyenne, WY, on March 7, 1956, to Robert and Marjorie (Armstrong) Cottle. He spent his childhood in Cheyenne, WY, Brighton, CO, and Leadville, CO, and graduated from Lake County High School in 1974. In 1978, Chris met the love of his life, Anjula (Osborn), whom he married in 1980.
Employed by Xcel Energy (formally Public Service), Chris worked as an electric meter man in Lake and Summit County, CO. In 2001, he and his family relocated back to his roots in Cheyenne, WY, where he continued his line of work with Cheyenne Light & Power before retiring in 2014. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Chris spent the remainder of his days enjoying retirement with his family and grandchildren by his side and will always be remembered for his kindness, selflessness, grace, and strength.
Chris is survived by his wife, Anjula; twin daughters, Carol Mitchelson and Stacey (Michael) Haugen; grandchildren, Finn and Charlie; sisters, Robin (Allen) Vinzant and Karen (Bob) Reed; brother, Randy (Mary), and numerous other nieces, nephews, and family members.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Marge; and infant twin daughters.
A service for Chris will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Cheyenne, WY on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 10:00 am.
