Chayla Rae Brown

January 17, 1977 — January 28, 2024

Chayla Rae Brown passed on January 28, 2024 at Davis Hospice surrounded by her family after a long and well fought bout against cancer.
She was born the same day as her father, to Ruby Jewell and Robert Brown in Wheatland, Wyoming. Chayla and Ruby have always been a dynamic mother and daughter team and settled in Cheyenne, Wyoming together.
Years after, Ruby met Sonny Jewell who ended up having the honor of being Chayla’s step-father. Chayla attended high school in Cheyenne, then after high school made her way to Utah, Arkansas, Oklahoma and many other places in between.
She worked over the years at vet tech, a dog groomer, dispatch for a trucking company, and most recently at Menards.
Chayla loved dogs just as much, if not more than, people and was a dog mom most recently to Mena (who went over the rainbow bridge last month) Journey, her little nerd and Snoop, her strong man. She gave so many dogs (and a bird) a wonderful life through the years. Chayla loved fuzzy cows and creating fun and unique crafts with her mother and step-dad. She loved her mom and had every adventure with her, and always ended up finding her way home to her.
Chayla is survived by her loving mother, Ruby Jewell, her fur babies, Snoop and Journey, her brothers Travis (Erin) Brown, brother Jesse (Eimi) Brown, her step-sister Kirsten (Jim) Conyers, her nephew and niece Tate and Maysa Brown, her step-niece and nephew, Tenly and Holden Conyers along with so many loving, aunts, uncles, cousins and amazing friends and adopted family. Chayla had so many cherished memories and adventures with anyone she crossed paths with.
Chayla is finally at peace and has started her next adventure with her step-dad, Sonny, her grandparents, other family members who passed on and all her fur-babies that she loved so much that went over the rainbow bridge ahead of her. She was a beautiful, smart, funny, loving, sentimental soul who had no problem telling you exactly what she thought or going “Beth Dutton” on you if needed. She loved hard and fast and was not afraid to put her heart and soul into this life, and make sure that all those she crossed paths with felt the love they needed. She loved and fought hard to love until her final breath.
As per Chayla’s wishes, there will be no services. For all her friends and family, show a dog or a fuzzy cow some love, or do something crafty with a family member in her memory.
