Carl Perry

March 25, 1954 — September 19, 2023

Carl H. Perry, 69, passed away on September 19th, 2023, after a long battle with heart disease.
He was born on March 25, 1954, to Harold C. "Bill" and Margaret Perry in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Carl graduated from East High School in 1972. Immediately following graduation, he enlisted in
the Air National Guard. After completing boot-camp and MOS classes for "parachute-rigger", he
came back to Cheyenne on leave, and led a hiking group up in Vedauwoo, only to get caught in
a thunderstorm. While checking if the granite was dry enough to hike back down, he slipped and
is one of the few people to have successfully logged a 483 ft. free-fall, (ironically) without a
parachute. Which also ended his military career early.
After getting patched up, he worked across the country as a cook and engineer until 1978. It
was then that with his sister Michele Christenson and brother Clint Perry, they started Canyon
Chapel Ministries at San Miguel Ranch, in Norwood, CO (near Telluride). Where he lived -on
and off- and thrived as a jack-of-all-trades; Head Chef - of their restaurant, Volunteer Paramedic
and ambulance driver, Chief Facilities Engineer, Hunting Guide, general contractor, and as a
computer repair and IT technician.
On February 14th, 2014, Carl married his high school sweetheart, Connie Irwin Perry, after they
had a 42 year pause in their relationship. Picking up right where they left off, thick as thieves,
and were inseparable upon their reunion. She brought him back home to Cheyenne with her
wiles.
Carl is preceded in passing by his parents, Bill & Margaret; older sister, Shauna; and older
Brother, Clint.
He is survived by his sister, Michele; wife Connie; son, Bill & (Donna); daughter,
Julia & (Leo); and stepsons David and Brian Hondel. He also has 2 grandsons and a
granddaughter and numerous extended family members.
Services will be held at 12p, on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, at The Gathering Place, across the street from Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel, in Cheyenne, WY. It will be a carry-in/covered-dish lunch.
